El Matador State Beach might be a hidden gem, but it’s not exactly a secret. To truly experience its magic, it’s important to plan ahead, especially when it comes to parking.
El Matador lies perched along the Pacific Coast Highway (CA-1) between Encinal Canyon Road and Kanan Dume Road in Malibu.
El Matador Beach Parking Fee:
Paid parking is limited (around 20 -30 spots!), so keep that in mind, especially on weekends and holidays. Daily use parking fee is $8 so if you’re a California resident consider checking out a California State Parks Library Pass for free entry year-round!
If the parking lot is full, don’t despair! Street parking is available along the Pacific Coast Highway near the beach entrance. However, be sure to read all signs carefully to avoid getting ticketed.
